IMAGINE…

  • Eliminating the need to apply extra make-up to cover those ugly brown age spots on your face.
  • Not being embarrassed to show your hands because of age spots
  • Reducing the number and prominence of freckles

…Solar Genesis can do this and more!

SOLAR GENESIS is a pulsed light delivered at a certain wavelength that is attracted to the pigmented lesions in the skin. It differs from laser light in that it treats a more superficial area of the skin. Within days it draws out and lightens pigmented lesions caused by sun damage and aging giving the skin an even, smooth appearance. It also helps revitalize the skin by stimulating collagen production. Results are typically seen after 1 or 2 treatments.

What areas can be treated?

Any area on that body with sunspots, age spots, or freckles. The face, chest, shoulders, arms, chest, and hands are frequently treated.  Isolated spots or an entire area covered with freckles may be treated.

How does the treatment work?

The light is attracted to the spots in the skin, the pigment is drawn out and then sloughed. You will notice a darkening in the spot over the initial 24 hours and then it will flake off and disappear over the next week or two.

What does the treatment feel like?

There is no pain; at most, you will feel a quick stinging sensation that rapidly diminishes. No numbing medicine is needed. The device applies cooling before and after the light is delivered. The treatment takes only a few minutes if single spots are being treated and up to 30 minutes if large areas are treated.

Will the spots reappear over time?

Typically they do not unless there is continual sun exposure. This could stimulate the pigment-producing cells in the skin and draw out the spot again or certainly cause the development of new spots. That is why sunscreen is important to wear everyday, even on cloudy days.

When will I see results?

There will be an initial darkening of the spots followed by flaking. You will notice steady improvement each week. A second treatment is not recommended for at least a month as improvement can continue up to that point.
